Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge has been the center of conversation on interesting and innovative phones ever since Samsung announced it back in September. The Note Edge takes the design from the Galaxy Note 4 and changes it a bit by making the right side of the screen curve over the edge of the phone. This gives users a second panel of information and interactive widgets and buttons to use during their day, freeing up the big screen for more tasks while performing smaller, quicker tasks on the panel. Now residents of India will soon be able to get their hands on their very own Galaxy Note Edge specially made for the Indian market with the proper radios and all included.
Samsung is going to be launching the device in the new year to specific retailers, and although the list hasn’t been released yet the price tag is looking to be pretty steep. Coming in somewhere between RS 64,900 and 68,500. That’s well over $1,000 USD for those wondering and not wanting to check the currency exchange rate today. That’s considerably more than most phones on the market, even high end ones, and essentially only the iPhone 6 Plus is going to cost you more. Samsung includes 32GB of storage inside and as usual provides both the options to remove the battery and replace it with a spare or a larger after-market one, as well as letting users put a microSD card inside to expand the storage space.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge is quite a beast of a phone and the price tag definitely reflects that quality. We reviewed it recently and it seems like if you’re a fan of the Galaxy Note series this one is going to be right up your alley, as it takes the successful Note formula with the S-Pen integration and turns it up a notch with the side panel and all its gadgets. Seeing as this is the LTE variant of the Note Edge it’ll launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and Adreno 420 GPU inside, which powers the Quad-HD 5.6-inch Super AMOLED screen. Samsung currently holds 24% of all smartphone shipments in India and hopes that the Galaxy Note Edge will be a winner in the premium segment of the Indian market.
