Pricing details of the recently launched Samsung GALAXY Note Edge have finally surfaced. While a German retailer has put up the flagship with a curved display for an eye-popping price tag of a 1000 EUR (approx. 79,000 INR), an employee who supposedly works for China’s largest carrier (via his Weibo account) states that the handset will cost over 7000 CNY (approx. 70,000 INR). Shocking? Yes indeed.
Although it does seem that Samsung did manage to grab the attention of many at the IFA with its GALAXY Note 4 and the GALAXY Note Edge, we think the pricing is a bit to far-fetched. This is especially for the Note Edge, which seems to have no functional use (apart from being used as ruler) for the curved display yet.
The last time around we heard about the pricing of the GALAXY Note 4. The handset was rumoured to be priced at 62,000 INR which also seems to be a lot for a premium Android smartphone these days.
But with Samsung delivering the goods with Optical Images Stabilisation (OIS) for cameras, a metal framed body and a stylus experience like no other; seems like it may find buyers even at such sky rocketing prices after all.
