Samsung announced that its Galaxy Note has been shipped in more than 5 million units since its debut, back in October 2011 (five months ago). With 1 million units being sold at the end of December 2011, this means 4 million Galaxy Notes have been shipped in Q1 2012 only (January, February, March).
The Galaxy Note is a relatively new kind of Android device. It combines the advantages of a phone and a tablet, with the accuracy of a stylus. It currently runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but an official update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is scheduled to arrive in Q2.
