Samsung Galaxy R, which is an Android-based smartphone that sits somewhere between the original Galaxy S and Galaxy S II, is getting its serving of Ice Cream Sandwich as we speak. Actually only users in select countries like Sweden are included in the first batch, but after that “test phase” (or whatever) is over, it’s pretty safe to assume other users from all around the world will get the same treatment, too.
However, it’s also worth adding that the new software is still not available to the general public, even in Sweden. Rather, Galaxy R owners are forced to visit a local service center to get the Android 4.0 goodies. That said, we think the Kies rollout and OTA updates are next in line to follow. Nothing stops you from checking for update right now and if nothing is found – try calling a local Samsung support. They may be able to help.
