Samsung's superb Galaxy S II has come top in a cold weather study of current smartphones
Samsung's Galaxy S II has come top in a study examining smartphone performance in sub-zero conditions.
The Galaxy S II was found to be the most reliable performer by Finnish magazine MikroPC, which found the device was able to perform its duties in temperatures as low as -30°c.
15 devices were subjected to the tests, carried out at a scientific facility in Espoo (home to Nokia), but Samsung's box of tricks bested them all, and ranked top in the independent study.
The main hurdle for any electronic device operating in cold weather is battery efficiency, as any budding Arctic photographer will attest, but the Galaxy S II's performance wasn't troubled by the freezing temperatures, and the device kept on truckin' right up to -35°c!
So if you live in one of the colder states and are looking to pick up the ideal cold weather smartphone you should give the Galaxy S II a look!
