SEOUL, South Korea – Samsung stated earlier that it would not be updating the Galaxy S III non-LTE phones to the latest Android KitKat OS owing to its limited RAM.
Now the company has brought a revamped Galaxy S3 (GT-I9301I) that will be running on Android KitKat. The handset, Galaxy S3 Neo, is a 3G-only version and looks pretty much the same as the original one.
However, this device is not the same S3 Neo that was released to South East Asian markets a couple of months ago. The newly launched phone will not be supporting dual-SIM functionality and will have a 1.4GHz chipset in place of processor which was clocked at 1.2GHz. Nevertheless, it is to feature 1.5GB RAM as in the South Eastern version.
The phone is presumed to be shipping soon. Since Samsung has not made a detailed announcement yet, for now it is supposed S3 Neo will be coming to Europe only.
