Problem:My S4 is not turning on, I tried wipe cache partition first, and the hard reset, also I tried turning it on through Safe Mode but still nothing, it didn’t turn on. Also I fully charged it, I unplugged the battery and I holded down the power button for a few seconds to drain the electricity and again it didn’t turn on. I tried these tricks many times but nothing. Please help me!
Solution: Since you have already performed all of the initial troubleshooting steps to fix this problem to no avail then the next step is to consider the possibility that the battery of your phone may already be defective. If this is the case then I suggest you get a new one.
If the problem still occurs even with a new battery installed then the problem could be hardware related. The power IC of the phone could be defective. I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center. If this chip is found to be defective then this has to be replaced. This component usually costs less than $10 however you may incur additional charges from the service fee.
S4 Shuts Down Randomly
Problem: Hello, I’m messaging you today due to a problem I’ve encountered on my phone for the past week or so. My phone originally started shutting down randomly and the only way it would turn back on is if I connected it to a charger. After a month or so of having to do that time to time my phone completely shut down even with a full battery. It would turn on but only for 5 seconds before shutting down once again. I figured it was time to get a new battery so I order one offline and it just arrived in today. Of course I was eager to put it in my phone and it began to turn on. It got to my home screen where the battery has read “37%” and then it shut off once again. I’m not a technical genius since I’m only 16 but I’ve researched enough on the internet to see if there was a solution to my problem. Sadly I haven’t found one yet and I am hoping you will have an answer for me. So, thank you for your time in reading this I hope I was detailed enough for you to get a general idea of what the problem is.
Solution: Since you have already isolated the battery as a possible cause to this issue then the next step is to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing this. Before proceeding try to backup your phone data first. You can do this by connecting your phone to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch running. I you have already made a backup of your phone data then proceed with the troubleshooting.
What you need to do is to start your phone in recovery mode. This is a separate and independent runtime environment from the main phone operating system. This allows you to check if the problem is with the phone software. Let’s say that your phone does not shut down in this mode . What you will want to do is to perform a factory reset. This will restore your phone to its initial condition when it was new. Reboot your phone normally then check if the issue still occurs.
If your phone still shuts down even in recovery mode then there’s a possibility that the problem could already be hardware related. If this is the case you should have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
S4 Not Charging Does Not Turn On
Problem:Phone was working fine then it started getting low on battery life so I plugged it into car charger and it wouldn’t charge. Within minutes it died and when plugged into home charger…it would not charge at all, will not turn on, and the battery is not getting hot or anything at all. Thanks
Solution: Try checking the charging port of your phone for any signs of dirt or debris. Presence of these foreign matters have been known to affect the charging process of the device. If necessary, you should clean the charging port using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol.
If you have been using just a single USB cord when charging your phone then consider replacing this cord. This cord gets damaged easily especially if it is constantly coiled or bent which causes the wires inside to get loose.
Another factor that can cause this problem is a defective phone battery. Try to get a new battery then check if this fixes the problem.
If the issue still persists at this point then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center as this could already be a hardware related problem.
S4 Completely Dead
Problem:Phone is completely dead doesn’t want to start up even when it is on the charger, it doesn’t make any lights and screen doesn’t even come on. It is completely dead and I have already purchased a new battery plus a new charger and it is still completely dead. PLEASE HELP
Solution: Since you have already tried using a new battery and a new charger on the phone which doesn’t help fix the issue then this could already be a hardware related problem. The most likely cause is a defective power IC. You should have the phone checked at an authorized service center. If necessary, the power IC will have to be replaced ( this component usually costs $10).
S4 Stuck In Samsung Logo Loop
Problem:It turns up, when the samsung s4 appears it turns up again, it’s not the power button, and i can’t even enter the safemode and it charges but even when the battery logo appears it froze again too and turns off
Related Problem:The phone will vibrate, show the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo, the switch to the Logitech logo, get halfway through displaying that, shut off, vibrate again, and repeat. This goes on for hours, rendering the phone useless.
Solution: The first thing that you need to check for this type of problem is if it is caused by a corrupt software. Before troubleshooting make sure to take out the microSD card first. You should also clear the phone RAM by taking out the battery then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. Reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone. Check if the issue still occurs.
If the problem persists then check if you are able to start your phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I suggest you proceed with doing a factory reset from here. Take note that this will delete your phone data so only proceed with this step if you already have a data backup.
In case the phone can’t access the recovery mode then connect it to its wall charger then check if you can now access this mode. If the phone proceeds then the issue could be caused by a faulty battery not supplying the correct voltage to the phone. Try getting a new battery and see if this fixes the problem.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you bring the phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Does Not Turn On
Problem:my phone is saying it’s got 99% battery but it won]t switch on at all when I put the charger in some times it comes on then switching of again and tried taking the battery out then back in when I do that it comes up the start screen samsung galaxy s4 then switches right of why is this is it the battery a need a new one
Solution: Try getting a new battery and see if this fixes the issue. This usually works if the battery is already faulty. If this issue remains even with a new battery then check if you are able to access the recovery mode of your phone. From here you should do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so proceed with this step only if you have a backup copy.
If the phone is unable to access the recovery mode then this could already be a hardware related issue. I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
