Problem:Hello, My phone has been randomly shutting off by itself and will not turn back on until I plug it into the charger. The battery level is not low. Sometimes it will say “network error”. Please help!
Solution: One of the main reason why a phone shuts off randomly is a corrupt software. To check if this is the case you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If it still does then proceed with checking the other factors that can cause this problem. Start with the microSD card. If your phone has one installed then take it out then observe if the phone shuts off randomly. Another factor to check is the phone battery. If your battery is weak or faulty then the phone will shut down on its own. Try to replace the battery with a new one then check if the issue still occurs.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center as this may already be a hardware related issue.
S4 Turns Off After Turning On
Problem:Hi, my galaxy s4 turn off after a 2-3 sec from a turning on. When i put it on charger there is not red light like common when charging. I read that it can be a button fault, but no the button works fine.I placed a new battery and it turned on, i was surprised but after 10-15minutes the same problem. before 2-3 days i quite the nfc antenna. But it worked fine all day. Then the battery died, i putted to charge and then the phone didn’t turn on. It’s only turning on when i quite the battery and put i again. and it works 2-3sec on black screen shows (galaxy s4…) and off. I bought a new battery and it worked for 10 minutes, and then the same problem.
Solution: Try to check first if this issue is software related by backing up your phone data then starting your phone in recovery mode. In this mode I suggest you do a factory reset. Once the reset is done check if the phone still turns off. If it does then try removing the microSD card of your phone ( if you have one installed) then check for the issue again.
If the problem still persists then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Will Not Recharge
Problem:Phone charge went to zero, placed on charger and saw the icon of the battery and charging as went to bed. In the morning phone unresponsive no light for charging will not boot up. Tried various cords and outlets, followed instructions of removing battery, microsd and discharging phone. Will not recharge or do anything when plugged in. This has not happened before. I replaced the battery about 6 months ago as it was not holding a charge very long.
Solution: One of the common factors that can cause this issue is a faulty charging cord. Since this cord is constantly bent or coiled it gets damaged easily. Try using a different cord and check if your phone charges with it. If the problem still persists then try cleaning the phone’s charging port with a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. You should also consider using a different wall charger in charging your phone. One other option is to check if the battery you are using is faulty by replacing it with another one that is known to work.
If the problem still persists at this point then this may already be a hardware related issue. If this is the case then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Does Not Charge
Problem:Up until today my phone charged rather quickly. I went to plug it in tonight and there is no charge that appears on my device. I tried all the suggest things like check cord..use different cord .clean device..clean cache…and nothing..my battery is slowly dying as we speak and I have no back up…what do I do now?
Solution: Have you tried using a different wall charger? If it still does not charge then try using a new battery and see if you are now able to charge the phone with it. If the issue still persists then this could already be a hardware related issue. I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
S4 Does Not Turn On After Battery Short Circuit
Problem: Hello, I was reading one of your posts because of a problem with my S4. I had issues with battery drain way too fast, when I was simply using the phone and not drain when I didn’t touch on it. I tested with a outside power source trying to check the problem, but I end up short circuit or something similar the battery connector for like 2 or 3s. Now the phone is completely dead. No start vibration, no image of any kind, no recovery, no download, no PC connection or start-up sound, nothing. Do you have any suggestions? My outsource power supply was an acuccell 6, with the mode “charging a li-po type battery directly” connected to the battery connector on the phone with the battery in parallel (was trying to check the power consumption when idle and when in use). Thanks a lot for any input you can give to my case.
Solution: If you used an external charger in charging the phone battery and you reversed the polarity of the charging leads with respect to the battery then this will damage the battery. I suggest you get a new battery since you won’t be able to repair a shorted battery.
S4 Will Not Charge
Problem:Hello, My Mini S4 suddenly will not charge. I plug it in and it shows that it is charging but it is not charging. I have rebooted the phone as well as shut the phone down then removed the battery and reinstall. I have tried to charge with the phone being turned off but again the phone shows that it is charging but it is not charging. The only thing I did differently with the phone was plug it into an external speaker system yesterday while at a friends house. Is this the battery or something else?
Solution: Your phone could be charging but it is doing so at a slower rate. This could be caused by a low amperage charger used or a faulty charging cord. Try getting another wall charger and charging cord then check if the phone charges normally. You should also try to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol as the presence of dirt or debris in the port can affect the charging process.
If the issue still persists then this may be a software related problem. Try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset check if your phone charges normally.
If the issue persists I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Will Not Charge Or Turn On
Problem:I had a Galaxy S4, switched to S6 in Aug of 2015 but used the S4 at home occasionally to use Wifi. All of a sudden, my phone will not charge, power up or anything, black screen. I have many pictures on this phone that I would like to retrieve can you help me out? I have brought it to be looked at, it is not the battery nor the charging port
Solution: If the battery or the charging port is not the issue then a component inside the phone could be causing this. One likely suspect is the power IC of the device. Have this checked at an authorized service center.
