Problem:My phone won’t update it keeps on saying software update interrupted, how can I fix this problem? Another problem I have is that when I transfer videos from my internal memory to my sd card it keeps on saying cannot be displayed how can I fix this problem too?
Solution: For the first problem you should first check if the Internet connection your phone is connected to is stable. If it the connection keeps on disconnecting or is unstable then the software update interrupted error can occur. Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi source.
Another way to update your phone software is to connect the device using a USB cord to a computer running on Kies. Once Kies has detected your phone you will see a software update prompt. Just follow the on-screen instructions to get the update.
If you are still getting the software update interrupted error then this may be caused by some form of corrupt data. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone then see if the issue gets resolved. If the problem persists then you should consider doing a factory reset before updating your phone software. Make sure to backup your phone data first before proceeding.
Regarding the second issue on transferring data you should try connecting your phone to a computer then use the computer to transfer the videos from the internal phone storage to the microSD card.
S4 Can’t Update Software Due To Device Has Been Modified Error
Problem: When i tried to update my mobiles software from kitkat to lollipop it is showing that “your device has been modified.software updates not available.”i tried to solve this issue by using wanam xposed app but it shows me that my device is not rooted and it cannot help….and also my device status is changed to custom and i also tried to change it normal but my efforts went in vain.PLEASE HELP ME .THANKS IN ADVANCE.
Related Problem: Phone can’t update. It shows ‘your device has been modified. Software update is not available’
Related Problem:I go to update my phone to the lollipop 5.1.1 and it says that your device has been modified software updates are unavailable. How do i fix.
Solution: This error message usually pops-up if you are trying to update a phone that has been rooted or is running on a custom ROM.
If your phone software has not been modified or if your phone has not been rooted then the first thing you need to do is to check if your device has a microSD card. Several phone owners getting this error message say that removing the microSD card fixes the problem.
If your phone has a microSD card then unmount it then turn off your device. Take out the microSD card then when you turn on your phone access the Android recovery mode. Once in recovery mode choose wipe cache partition then restart your phone normally. When your phone starts proceed with the software update. After the software update reinsert the microSD card.
If however your phone does not have a microSD card and you get this message then try to perform a factory reset before doing the software update. Just make sure to backup your phone data before performing this step.
S4 Does Not Update Or Install New Apps
Problem: My apps won’t update at all or download new apps. I’ve tried doing the. One at a time still nothing. I bought a refurbished phone from Walmart it’s got a 1 year factory warranty I’m wondering if it’s the problem and I need a new phone. That’s not refurbished. The battery drains and it gets it the ad card I’d constantly saying it’s been removed. I’m so annoyed with this phone and also the charging port I have to wiggle the charger in it. I used to love galaxy’s. .not anymore
Solution: Since this is a refurbished device I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This fixes most software related problems. Regarding the charging port of your phone I suggest you try to use a different USB cord and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn’t then your phone charger port may have a loose connection somewhere. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Not Updating To Lollipop
Problem: I can’t find any update for Lollipop OS. Currently I’m still on Kitkat and when I try to find software update on my phone, it says that I already have the latest software update. How can I update to Lollipop?
Solution: Try wiping the cache partition of your phone then check if the software update becomes available. If it doesn’t then connect your phone using a USB cord to a computer running on Kies. You will then be prompted that a software update is available. JUst follow the on-screen instructions to update your phone.
S4 Rooted Problem After Update
Problem:I have a few issues. I’m rooted on my s4. i accidentally made software update a system app using rom toolbox now when I go to to settings and click check for updates it force closes saying settings must close. So I did a factory reset and it did not fix the problem. Now in addition I can not get my phone to go to lte only 3g. also it will say my update has downloaded and upon trying to install it it will say error something unexpected with cache update.zip. I know this is a lot of problems but any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Solution: I think the best way to proceed in this case is to backup your phone data then reflash your phone using Odin. You will need a copy of your phone firmware which you can get at SamMobile. You will also need Odin installed in your computer. Detailed instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S4 Not Enough Space When Updating Apps
Problem:When trying to update apps, I keep getting message not enough space. I’ve deleted things and still get same message.
Solution: Your phone may not have enough available space to update your apps. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone and see if this resolves the problem. I suggest you also check how much available space your phone has. If your phone still has a considerable amount of space and you are unable to update your apps then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
