Problem:Phone turned off and won’t boot past the first Samsung screen before shutting off. It turns off before it can go to Safe Mode, Recovery, or Download Mode. I read that the power switch could be damaged so I took the phone apart and tested the switch and the circuits seem to be working fine. I don’t know where to go from here. Thanks for any input.
Solution: There seems to be a problem with the power of your device. Try plugging your phone to its wall charger then attempt to turn it on. If your phone boots normally then your phone battery may not be supplying the correct power to your phone. You should try changing your battery with a new one.
If the issue still persists then you should connect your phone using a USB cord to a computer running on Kies. Turn on your phone then when Kies can detect your phone you should attempt to backup your phone data. Once the backup has completed disconnect your phone from the computer.
Now that you have backed up your phone data attempt to do a factory reset. If you can’t do a factory reset even with the phone plugged to its charger then this may already be a hardware related problem.
I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center for further checking.
S4 Not Turning On After Phone Dropped
Problem:Hi I have a problem I dropped my s4 one day thought it was already cracked a bit before I dropped it, it was working fine but on the day I dropped it the screen went blank I could turn it on but it would still be blank. But before it went blank there were streaks then it went black.
Solution: If this problem happened right after you dropped your phone then the first thing to suspect is that your phone display may be damaged already. The streaks that you saw before the display went black is one additional clue to further strengthen the suspicion that the display was damaged by the fall.
I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked. You may need to have the display assembly replaced.
S4 Does Not Turn On
Problem:Used my phone last night and it was fine but at some point in the night it must have broken because my alarm didn’t go off in the morning and it hasn’t turned on since. It was on charge all last night and I have been charging it all day using two different batteries and it still wont turn on or do anything. I have cleaned the charging port and tried charging it in different places, I have also tried turning it on holding down different buttons. It is only a year and a half old and I have no clue what is wrong.
Solution: I have a strong suspicion that this may already be a hardware related problem. However you should first try to do some additional troubleshooting. Take out your phone battery then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges your phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Make sure to remove the microSD card of your phone if one is installed before inserting the battery. Try to turn on your phone.
If your phone still does not turn on then connect it to its wall charger and charge it for 20 minutes. Turn on your phone again.
If your phone still does not turn on then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Does Not Turn On After Left In Fridge
Problem:my phone get exhausted while playing clash of clans i have put my cell into the Fridge i forgot to take it back from fridge for an hour now my phone is not starting can help please ?
Solution: Your phone may have suffered some water damage since there is too much moisture inside the fridge. This moisture may have entered your device.
What you should do right now is to take out the battery, SIM, and microSD card. Leave your phone buried under a bowl of rice for at least 48 hours. Rice absorbs moisture and is known to get rid of any moisture that has entered a smartphone.
Once 48 hours has passed insert the battery then try to turn on your phone. If it does not turn on then connect your phone to its wall charger for 20 minutes then attempt to turn it on again.
If your phone still does not turn on then you need to bring it to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Does Not Turn On
Problem:Hello,I stumbled upon your forum and it is the most useful and website has been. I need help resolving the following issue. I had an issue where my phone automatically yesterday evening went to the the Android System Recovery screen. I’m not sure what caused it, but I was listening to music my battery was a bit low an this transpired. Thereafter it wouldn’t let me navigate through the screen itself every time I clicked reboot system. Then it froze. I took the battery out. Waited and put it back in. It turned on but my volume keys have been acting weird since. I transferred my files. My phone was packed, freeing 6GB of space. And updated it today morning hoping that it would work out. The system updated but I’ve had things like “This is old binary. Please update latest binary” and then when I turn it on is has a lock key with custom and Samsung on the screen, Android is upgrading. The system keeps on asking to update when it’s turned on. Sometimes if I turn it on again after taking the battery out it will show recovery setting. I’m not sure what’s going on. Any help is appreciated.
Solution: Try taking out your phone battery then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. Reinsert the battery then turn on your phone. Check if your phone boots normally.
If the problem persists then try to start wipe the cache partition of your phone as this issue may be caused by some form of corrupt data.
If you are still experiencing the same problem then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
