SEOUL, South Korea – With the 41-megapixel Nokia Lumia EOS just a week away from launch, it could all be for nothing if the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom has its way with the market.
The phone packs a 16MP camera with 10x optical zoom, OIS (optical image stabilization) similar to the Nokia Lumia 920 and Xenon flash, with related photography features in addition to the many characteristics from original Samsung Galaxy S4.
For the hardware specs, it has a 4.3-inch qHD sAMOLED screen with 1.5GHz dual-core processor. The device allows connectivity through 4G LTE networks, NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It offers 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage capacity with microSD slot for memory expansion up to 64GB, and two cameras – 16MP at back and 1.9MP at front.
Coming to software, it is powered on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. To make it a high-end camera device, it has been loaded with a number of photography features such as Photo Suggest, In-Call Photo Share and Smart Mode. Photo Suggest helps a user by directing them to a nearby location which may be ideal for the picture. With In-Call Photo Share feature, a user is able to capture a photo during a phone call and send via MMS. The popular Smart Mode has pre-set modes to ensure professional-quality of a picture.
Other features of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom include Samsung Hub, Group Play, Story Album and Google services.
