Samsung was pretty busy lately, as it announced two new Galaxy S4 products in just 7 days: the Galaxy S4 Mini, and the waterproof Galaxy S4 Active. And it’s going to unveil another one really soon: the Galaxy S4 Zoom. Until it’s properly announced, though, the S4 Zoom has allegedly appeared in a press image.
Received by Sam Mobile, the image suggests the Galaxy S4 Zoom is really thick. But that shouldn’t be a surprise, since it packs a very large 16MP camera on the back, including 10x optical zoom. While it looks like an S4 smartphone from the front, it certainly resembles a standalone camera from the sides (and back). Overall, it’s not exactly the most appealing device I’ve seen lately – the extra thickness just doesn’t fit nicely with the front.
Like the Galaxy S4 Mini, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom reportedly sports a 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED display. That aside, it should come with Android Jelly Bean, a dual-core 1.6GHz processor, 1.9MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 1,900 mAh battery. The handset has cellular connectivity, but it remains to be seen if it’s LTE, or just HSPA.
We’re all expecting Samsung to officially present the Galaxy S4 Zoom on June 20 in London, where the company will also announce new Windows-based products.
