Problem:My phone was worked fine but for past week or so it freeze way to often. It drains my battery really fast even if I’m not watching anything or doing anything. I could be reading something and within 3 minus I’m 4% down on battery. It feels like the system is running something that I’m. It aware of and that slows down my phone and it makes it freeze and at the same time it drains my battery. How do I fix this?
Solution: The first thing that we should concentrate on in this type of issue is the phone software. Below are the recommended troubleshooting steps that you should perform.
Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Sometimes some corrupt temporary data in your phone can cause the device to freeze or lag. This is why you need to delete the temporary data in your phone to check if this is causing the problem.
Start your phone in Safe mode then check if the issue still occurs in this mode. In most cases, an app installed in your phone can cause the device to freeze. This is usually the case if the app is has bugs in it or is conflicting with the phone software. If the issue does not occur in this mode then find out what app is causing the problem then uninstall it.
Do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data first since this will delete everything in your phone.
To troubleshoot the hardware follow the steps listed below.
Take out the microSD card. A corrupted microSD card can usually cause the phone to freeze since it will have a hard time accessing the data stored in the card.
Check if the battery drain issue occurs with a new battery installed in your phone.
S5 Extremely Laggy
Problem:My S5 is just overall extremely laggy. It also crashes a lot even though I have not recently installed any apps. My battery life is also extremely bad but that’s kind of expected.
Solution: There are various factors to consider as to why a phone could lag. Too many apps that are open simultaneously reducing the amount of available RAM can cause the phone to lag. Corrupt temporary data in the phone can also cause the device to lag. An app running in the background that’s causing a conflict with the system software can also be a possible cause. Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps that you need to do to resolve this issue.
First, wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This Accomplishes two things. First, it restarts the phone which refreshes the software. Second, it takes out the temporary data in your phone which could cause the problem.
Second, start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the lag issue still exists. If it doesn’t then it’s very likely to be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
Third, Take out the microSD card then see if the problem still occurs. If the microSD card has some corrupt sectors then the phone will have a hard time accessing data stored in it which in return causes the device to lag.
Lastly, if the above steps fail to resolve the issue then you should do a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing this step.
S5 Keeps On Restarting
Problem:My phone keeps on restarting by itself, saying “auto update of time and date.” However, I wanted this to cease, so I unchecked the option where I can manually do that. However, my phone then freezes & restarts, and the option to automatically update my time and date is checked again. The phone restarts almost every 20 minutes.
Solution: This appears to be caused by a software glitch. I suggest you backup your phone data first then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone just yet. Observe its operation first and see if it still restarts. If it doesn’t then proceed with downloading your favorite apps.
S5 Screen Freezes Blank After Update
Problem:After at&t app update my phone freezes shows the blank screen then turns off on itself but when it restarts it plays the sound as it should when turn on off. the screen is still blank.I had run the phone in safe mode ,did the master ,factory reset doesn’t change anything.please help Ps.deleted all 3d party apps didn’t help.
Solution: Have you checked if the issue occurs even in recovery mode? If it doesn’t occur in this mode then the software update applied to your phone could be corrupt. I suggest you flash your phone with its stock firmware. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 Lag When Playing Bluetooth Music In Car
Problem:I bought a brand new s5 about two months ago and since the beginning it has had an occasional Bluetooth lag when I played music in my car (’15 Subaru Legacy) from my phone. I have cleared cache and rebooted my phone, I reset the Bluetooth connection with my car. Nothing seems to help. It may play one or two songs fine before the Bluetooth connection briefly breaks up (can be 2-3 sec) and then the music resumes but it appears to try to catch up by playing faster before returning to normal speed. The phone doesn’t have the same problem with a Bluetooth speaker at home. Before this, I had a Galaxy s4 and had no problem playing music in the same car via bluetooth. I wonder if you could suggest a solution. Thank you.
Solution: Try playing the same music while your phone is in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur then an app installed in your phone could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then it looks like this is caused by a conflict between the Bluetooth of the phone and the car itself. Try to check if there are any new software updates available for your phone. You should also check if a new firmware update is available for your car Bluetooth. It’s also best if you contact the car manufacturer regarding this issue so a software solution can be provided.
