While we know almost everything about the Samsung Galaxy S5 including the availability date, the Korean manufacturer is yet to give away details on the official pricing. However, UK retailer Clove has now shed more light on that with a new pre-order listing. The retailer mentions that the first stock will arrive on April 11, which is when the global rollout is expected to commence.
According to this listing, the smartphone will cost £550 or $920 (including local tax), so it’s not going to be cheap by any means. Amazon Spain has also set up a pre-order listing for the smartphone with a price of €729 ($1,005). This squashes all previous reports of Samsung probably trying to price the Galaxy S5 lesser than expected. However, given that this is merely a pre-order listing at the moment, it’s hard to properly assess the actual pricing of the smartphone.
Samsung has a habit of pricing its devices way too high during launch and bringing it down in a month or two, especially in global markets where devices are sold unlocked and off contract. So expect that trend to continue going forward as the manufacturer gears up for its release in April.
