SEOUL, South Korea – Samsung has officially announced the smaller variant of its recent flagship, as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini comes with a 4.5” Super AMOLED display having 720p resolution. At its heart lies a Exynos 3470 quad-core processor running the latest Android 4.4 KitKat on-board. It has 1.5 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and 64GB of expandable storage via microSD cards. The back of the device sports an 8MP primary camera with LED flash while the front has a 2.1MP of secondary camera.
The connectivity options for the device include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, A-GPS+GLONASS, and IR Remote connectivity. In addition it has a heart rate monitor as well as a fingerprint sensor, along with Power Kids/ Kids Mode, S Health and Ultra Power Saving Mode. The handset comes with IP67 certification which makes it dust- and water-proof. The battery capacity of the device is 2100mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is available in four color options of Copper Gold, Electric Blue, Shimmery White and Charcoal Black. The device has already been released in Russia, whereas the international market release is expected from mid-July.
