Reports suggest that Samsung is going to release it’s smaller variant of Galaxy S5 flagship sometime in the mid of July. Galaxy S5 Mini is the successor of last year’s S4 Mini.
Though Galaxy S4 Mini was a min-range smartphone, Galaxy S5 Mini will feature some of the high-end specifications like IP67 water and dust resistance, fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor.
Other hardware features include a 4.5-inch 720p display (a considerable upgrade from the disappointing qHD display of the Galaxy S4 Mini), an unannounced Samsung Exynos 3 Quad (Exynos 3470) SoC with a clock speed of 1.4GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, and the usual bevy of connectivity features including LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, IR Blaster, NFC, and GPS.
Galaxy S5 Mini runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Samsung’s latest TouchWiz UX and comes with all the software features found on its bigger brother, including Ultra Power Saving Mode, Private Mode, and Kids Mode.
