SEOUL, South Korea – Images published by evleaks hint that Samsung is working on a flat-tile-based TouchWiz UI that could be featured on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5.
The images sourced provide concrete proof of the fact, although these could be conceptual renders as Samsung has not made any official statement to date.
The leaks show that the new UI will have some features based on the Google Now search-based virtual assistant and others inspired by Microsoft’s Metro UI found on Windows Phone 8.
The UI displays Metro-like tiles and information in a Google Now-like pattern. There are cards for flight information, weather, social networking, restaurant reservations, deliveries and purchases, fitness apps, concerts, sporting events and smart home integration based services. Additionally, the new UI will rely on vertical scrolling similar to the Metro UI.
