Problem: I bought a Verizon unlocked phone to use with t-mobile but it isn’t making calls. Is this bc it’s a different type of network? I saw that answer for a similar situation. How do I go about fixing the issue?
Solution: Try to check your SIM card first in another phone and make sure you can make calls with it. Once you have made sure that the SIM card you are using can make a call reinsert it back to the S5. Go to the network mode settings and make sure that it is set to Global mode.
From the Home screen, go to Apps Applications icon > Settings > More networks.
Tap Mobile networks.
Tap Network mode.
S5 Verizon Unlocked LTE Signal Drops When Making Calls
Problem:Hi guys, So i just bought myself an unlocked Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 model SM-G900V running on Android 5.0 for a T-Mobile network. Every time i call, the 4G LTE drop to 1X with no bar left. Calls still go through, but the other party is not able to recognize everything that i press on dial pad (answering machine that prompt you to press a number key). What can i do?
Solution: Have you tried checking if this issue occurs everywhere you go? If it occurs only in one particular area then the problem could be network related.
If the problem is not network related then I suggest you make sure that the network mode of your phone is set to Global. If it is and the problem still occurs then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S5 Verizon Unlocked Not Sending Receiving Picture Messages
Problem:I just bought a Verizon unlocked Galaxy S5 from groupon for my mom. She has Lyca as her carrier. She is not able to receive and send picture messages but she can receive text messages. Another thing is she only have two bars for signal, is it her service or is it the phone? I’m wondering what is wrong and how can I fix this? Do she need to switch Her carrier to something else? If so what would be the best cheapest choice to be compatible with the phone?
Solution: Since this is a Verizon unlocked device then it’s most likely that the APN setting of the phone is still that of the Verizon network. Change the APN setting to the one used by Lyca. I suggest contacting the carrier regarding the correct settings.
Regarding the issue with the signal this could be be a network related issue. Try to check if the issue occurs when the phone is brought to different locations.
