We've yet to see anything official from Samsung regarding the Galaxy S5 Zoom, however a good picture of the device is beginning to surface. We saw the actual (leaked) image yesterday, and some specs have leaked in the past. Today we are getting another look at the specs, which come courtesy of an AuTuTu benchmark report.
The benchmarks are showing a score of 33,252. This puts it ahead of devices such as the Galaxy S4 and HTC One (M7). Nothing all that surprising given those are both older devices using older processor hardware. But there is another factor to consider here, one that could bring a higher score. As of now we have to believe this handset was tested without the final software build in place.
This particular model of the S5 Zoom is the SM-C115. According to details coming from SamMobile, the handset will have a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display at 1280 x 720. The camera setup includes a 20.2MP (5184 x 3888) on the back with optical image stabilization (OIS), a Xenon Flash and 10x optical zoom. There will also be a 2.1MP (1920 x 1080) front-facing camera.
Other specs include 2GB of RAM, quad-core ARM Mali-T624 GPU, microSD memory card slot and Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat with Samsung's TouchWiz UX. Naturally, the basics such as WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS can be expected. In this case that would mean WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0 LE/ANT+.
Details on the processor break down as follows; 6-core Samsung Exynos 5 Hexa (5260) SoC with ARM’s big.LITTLE HMP technology. This is further broken down as a pair of 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores with four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores.
Touching back on the benchmark score, this time we are looking higher to put this in some perspective. Other AnTuTu results include the LG G2 with 35,444, LG G Flex with 35,831 and the HTC One (M8) with 37,009. But again, this should still all be considered early leaks for the Galaxy S5 Zoom. Lastly, the image you see sitting below is the one that leaked yesterday.
