Problem:My wife dropped her samsung galaxy edge in water it comes on then the screen starts flickering stays on for about 4 mins then the screen go’s blank but the phone is still on cause the lights are on at bottom.. then if I leave it for 5 minutes it comes back on.. how can we get the pictures off the phone thank you
Solution: The first thing that you need to do is to dry the phone. To do this you need to place the phone in a container filled with rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone which could be preventing the device from starting.
After 48 hours have passed try to turn on your phone. If you see the lights turning on then you should connect your phone using a USB cord to a computer with the Smart Switch software installed. If your phone is detected by the software then you will be able to backup its data which includes photos, videos, and music.
S6 Edge Screen Has 2 Green Lines
Problem:So I dropped my s6 edge into the toilet. I grabbed It immediately so it didn’t go off. It was working fine for the first few minutes . After a while the screen froze and wouldn’t turn on . It wouldn’t charge and it said battery temperature too low to charge. After using the hair dryer and keeping it in rice all night it’s working fine but the screen has 2 green lines on it and they are not going. What should I do?
Solution: The two green lines that you see on the phone screen could already be a hardware related problem most likely caused by your phone getting wet. You should however check if this is caused by a glitch in the phone software. To do this you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset you are still seeing the two green lines then this is caused by a damaged screen. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Screen Is Black
Problem: Phone was working fine, was in my back pocket of jeans at work headphones plugged in listening to music I went to change the song and the screen just stayed black, the touch screen still works because when the phone rings I can still touch the screen and answer phone calls.
Solution: Try rebooting your phone first and see if the issue gets fixed. If it doesn’t then proceed with starting your phone in recovery mode. It’s either you will be able to see what’s on the screen or you won’t. If you are able to see what is on the screen when your phone is in recovery mode then the problem could be software related.
The first thing you should do from here is to wipe the cache partition of your phone. This will delete the temporary data in the phone which could be causing the problem. Reboot the phone then check if the problem disappears.
If the problem still persists then you will need to boot your phone in recovery mode again then do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete all data stored in your phone. Restart your phone after this.
If the issue still occurs at this point or if your can’t see anything in recovery mode then the problem could be hardware related. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Screen Dead After Charging
Problem: I put in the charger and the screen went dead. All I have is a small X in the bottom right of the screen when I turn on the screen . Help please
Solution: Several other owners of this device are also experiencing this same issue. While there is no specific step to resolve this problem since it could be caused by various factors we will be guiding you on what to do. First, make sure that your phone battery is charged. To do this you need to clean the phone charging port using a can of compressed air or a cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Next, try using a different charging cord as well as a different wall charger when charging your phone. It is recommended that you charge your phone for at least 20 minutes before trying to turn it on.
Next, try to connect your phone using a USB cord to a computer with Smart Switch running. Check if the phone can be detected. Sometimes, if the phone is detected it will boot up normally.
You should also try to start your phone in recovery mode. From here what you need to do first is to wipe the cache partition of the device. This deletes the temporary data stored in the phone which could be causing the problem. If the issue still persists then consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this procedure will delete your phone data.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge No Display After Getting Wet
Problem:Dropped the phone in toilet, picked it up immediately, it did not switch off, dried the water on the surface, some of it definitely went inside, the screen started to flicker and now can’t see anything. Have kept the phone in a bag of rice. Happened 10 mins ago, will take it to the repair guy tomorrow, Can anything be done until then?
Solution: The only thing you can do right now is to dry your phone in a bag of rice. Drying the phone this way will take around 48 hours so all you can do right now is to wait.
S6 Edge Does Not Boot
Problem:Hi there. So, I was on my phone, scrolling through messages when my phone basically restarted itself. It went to the black and white title screen. I tried a hard reset on it, but it would just turn off the phone, let it cool down, but when I tried to turn it back on again, it goes straight back to the black and white screen. I tried doing the volume up – power – and main menu button, but that didn’t seem to discourage it at all. After it had cooled down, I tried plugging it in, but nothing came up at all for it. I’m at a complete loss on what to do with it, and any news would be helpful. Thank you so much!
Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then try to take it out first before we troubleshoot the problem.You should also makesure that the battery has sufficient charge by charging your phnoe for at least 20 minutes. When charging the device make sure that the phone charging port is clear of any dirt or debris. Clean the port if necessary using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. You should also use a different wall charger and different charging cable when charging your phone.
To fix this issue try starting the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition first. If that does not work then do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.
If the issue still persists then this may already be a hardware related problem. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
