Samsung confirmed both handsets would be available for April 10, but was –– as per usual –– very quiet on pricing details. The company did confirm the Galaxy S6 EDGE would cost more than the Galaxy S6 model (just as the Note EDGE costs more than the Galaxy Note 4) but it did not clarify by how much. Rumours prior to launch suggested a $1000 price tag for the top of the line model, though this has not been officially confirmed as yet.
Thankfully, we’ve now had word from Sam Mobile about how Samsung will price both models in the US. According to the leaked details, “the Galaxy S6 will be priced at €699 for the 32GB variant, €799 for the 64GB version, and €899 for the top-end 128GB model. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 Edge will cost €150 more than the standard Galaxy S6 for the 32, 64 and 128GB models – €849, €949, and €1049. Those are steep price tags for sure, but given the revolution these two devices bring to Samsung’s smartphone lineup and the hardware that’s on offer (especially on the S6 Edge), we can’t say we are too surprised that buying them won’t be an affordable affair.”
Samsung has now updated its website with some pricing details as you're now able to pre-order a selection of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 options. So far we have a pre-order price of £599.99 for the Galaxy S6 base 32GB model, while the 64GB and 128GB options have not yet had prices disclosed. For the Galaxy S6 Edge the base model is 64GB and costs £760 to pre-order, the upper-tier 128GB model is not yet available and has no pricing info yet either. The site lists a shipping date of April 10 for the Galaxy S6 and April 24 for the Galaxy S6 Edge.
