The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is the latest recipient of the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update. The update carries the build number T705ZHU1BOD3 and brings some crucial changes to the tablet.
The update is only being sent out to the international cellular/LTE models of the tablets, with WiFi models already getting the update earlier. We must point out that only the unlocked models are getting the update as of now with carrier variants yet to receive the update, and frankly it might take a while.
Once the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is running Android 5.0, features like lockscreen notifications, Smart Lock etc will make its way to the device, so this is a very significant update for device owners. The update will arrive through an OTA, but can also be pulled from the settings menu by interested customers. You can also hook up your Galaxy Tab S 8.4 to the computer and try pulling the update from Samsung Kies.
The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 along with the 10.5 inch model was Samsung’s first large sized AMOLED tablet (over 7.7 inches) and is expected to get successors next month.
