SEOUL, South Korea – The Samsung Galaxy Mega with a 6.3-inch screen was not large enough, apparently, so now the company has introduced the Samsung Galaxy W, sporting a 7-inch HD TFT display.
Readers should not confuse it with Galaxy W (also called Wonder) which was a 3.7-inch screen phone. The new Galaxy W (W stands for Widescreen here) is set to be released in South Korea market only.
Samsung says that despite the large size of the phone, it is quite easy to grip. This display supports Landscape and Split View that is also featured on other Samsung devices, including the Note 3.
The device will cost 499,400 won or 490 USD. For this price, it will pack a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, LTE-A support, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB storage capacity, 8MP camera on back, 2MP at front and 3,200mAh battery. However, the Samsung Galaxy W will be shipped running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The phone comes in red, white and black.
