Samsung has kept its promise. After announcing that it will give an Olympics edition of the Galaxy S7 Edge to every athlete few months back, it is making good on its promise. Surprisingly, Samsung is also putting in it’s Gear IconX wireless earbuds that are truly wireless and will help every athlete in practicing their games without dealing with the tangles of the cords.
The wireless earbuds also include a heart rate sensor, music player and is compatible with Samsung’s own S-health app. While the earbuds are the normal ones sold in retail outlets, the S7 Edge is the Olympic edition. The smartphone features a unique falling Edge display and the 5 colors embedded in the Olympic symbol can be observed on the phone in places like home button and camera module ring.
The software has also been modified to match the games. The icons and the theme honor the games that are currently underway.
All in all, Samsung has given away 12,500 Galaxy S7 edge smartphones to the athletes.
The Olympic committee has thanked Samsung for its partnership for the Olympic games and in providing technology to the athletes for enhancing their game.
For people who are not athletes, Samsung has made available 2016 units of the Olympic edition Galaxy S7 Edge. But you will have to shell out a bit more than usual to lay your hands on one of these beauties.
