Samsung is thanking its hardcore loyalists in South Korea by giving them a brand new Galaxy S6. For this purpose the company has teamed up with SK Telecom. Anyone who still uses the original Galaxy S smartphone can claim a free Galaxy S6. Even those who have purchased every single Galaxy S model to date will be given Samsung’s new flagship smartphone for free.
Aside from the free Galaxy S6, SK Telecom will also be providing those loyalists with a year’s worth of free calls. So people who have stuck with Samsung’s Galaxy S series in South Korea from the get go will be taken care of quite nicely.
The carrier revealed that at least one Galaxy S model was used by 15 million of its customers. It also revealed that around 17,000 original Galaxy S units were still being used on its network.
SK Telecom also said that more than 1,600 customers have bought every single one of the 13 different Galaxy S series handsets and that 2,400 have purchased more than 10 of those devices.
It also comes down to the fact that South Korea is Samsung’s home base so it’s not surprising to see the company do something special for its loyalists in the country. Samsung hasn’t said if it plans on taking this promotion to other markets.
