And this is why paying attention to social media is a good idea- you get to hear some of the coolest stuff. Today, we’ve got some news about AT&T, and a little OS named Android. It sounds like Gingerbread’s coming to the Samsung Infuse 4G. According to a tweet by an AT&T representative, responding to the user @Drake_Heth; The Samsung Infuse 4G’s slated to receive the coveted upgrade some time in the next few weeks.
The update can’t come soon enough, especially among rumors of Ice Cream Sandwich’s impending launch along with the possible arrival of the Galaxy S II to the US in the very near future. That’s not all there is to this story, either- for those of you thinking of starting up service with AT&T (as well as those of you who are currently under their service umbrella) it just keeps getting better and better. According to the website that AT&T referenced in the aforementioned tweet, every single AT&T phone released in 2011 is going to receive an upgrade to Gingerbread in short order.
This includes the HTC Inspire, LG Phoenix, Motorola Atrix 4G, Pantech Crossover and Samsung Captive. Nice.
Question is, how much longer will Gingerbread be top dog in the world of Android smartphones?
