Over the weekend rumors circulated that Samsung was in the process of developing Android 5.1 for the Galaxy Note 4. Not only has this rumor since been debunked, but apparently Samsung isn't working on bringing Android 5.1 to any of its devices, including the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
The news arrives via SamMobile, which states: "sources tell us that Samsung is not working on Android 5.1 for any of its devices at the moment, let alone the Galaxy Note 4."
While this isn't a declaration that Samsung will never bring Android 5.1 to its devices, it's still telling of Samsung's current situation regarding the Lollipop roll-out. So far, only the Galaxy S5, S4, Note 4 and Note 3 have received Lollipop, and Samsung is likely to focus on bringing it to other, older devices before bringing Android 5.1 to those already running Lollipop.
SamMobile also pulled no punches when discussing the website which began the rumor, YouMobile, stating "YouMobile shouldn’t be taken as a serious source for any Samsung-related information."
We'll keep you up to speed with any further news regarding the status of Android 5.1 for Samsung's devices as we get it.
