Samsung offers free data transfer for new and existing Galaxy users
Just the other day we mentioned Samsung taking it easy on Apple in its latest set of ads for its Galaxy S III. Now, it looks like the company has found another quiet way to stick it to the iPhone maker. In a Friday release, Samsung announced it is now offering free Easy Phone Sync for anyone purchasing one of its Galaxy devices.
Easy Phone Sync, as you may have already gathered, is a simple way to transfer your existing data from one phone to another. This means that current iPhone owners can take all of their media and inject it right into a shiny new Galaxy S III. This covers everything from music and videos to photos and text messages, and it’s all done with nothing more than a few clicks.
In the company's release, vice president of telecommunications and networks for Samsung UK, Simon Stanford said:
“We’re really proud to announce the launch of this new application and can’t wait to hear what our new and existing customers think of it. We know that traditionally iPhone users have been reluctant to switch to an Android device because they couldn’t use iTunes to manage their content. Easy Phone Sync means people can now enjoy their iTunes content on a Samsung Galaxy phone. What’s more is that it’s really easy for them to do, and literally takes five minutes to set up.”
Easy Phone Sync is currently available for download and is compatible with both the PC and Mac, along with the app for Samsung’s Android-based devices. You can check out our full review of Samsung's Galaxy S III here. And see how well it scored in a series of drop tests against Apple's iPhone here.
