Multiple reports have suggested that Samsung may have underestimated Galaxy S6 Edge demand which is why it’s having to ramp up production. Certainly the Galaxy S6 Edge has been attracting a lot of customers and it appears that many of them are choosing this variant over the Galaxy S6. According to a new report in order to meet rising demand for the Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung has opened up yet another production line.
Production of the dual edge curved display on the Galaxy S6 Edge is time consuming and a bit difficult which is why Samsung had supply issues in the first place. It did however start to ramp up production once it became clear that the Galaxy S6 Edge had become quite popular with customers.
The report suggests that the start of a new production line is going to bring up the total volume to five million display units per month, a substantial increase over the previous production volume of just two million display units per month.
