Although the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was initially planned to hit the market in Netherlands on the 2nd day of September, earlier this month Samsung Netherlands announced via Twitter that the smartphone’s release in the country has been delayed by a week, pushing the handset’s market debut towards September 9th. However, the interesting news today is that Samsung fans and Galaxy Note 7 prospective customers in Netherlands will soon be able to get a taste of the latest flagship phone in one of Samsung’s two new pop-up stores located in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 should be available for purchase from brick & mortar stores in Netherlands starting with September 9th, but in order to keep the momentum going and to maintain the interest of prospective customers, tomorrow – August 25th – Samsung Electronics will open two pop-up stores in the country, specifically, one in Amsterdam on Kalverstraat 101, and the second one in Rotterdam on Beurstraverse 178. The pop-up stores will be open every day and will close on September 11th, two days after the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to hit the shelves. To make things even more interesting and entertaining for visitors, the pop-up stores will also invite brave smartphone users to try an exciting Samsung Gear VR demo, which puts users in a virtual rollercoaster scenery. But unlike the usual Gear VR experience, the headsets in the stores will be hooked up to a special chair called Icarus, designed to make the virtual rollercoaster ride much more believable, as you can probably tell from the image below. Evidently, visitors will also have the option of pre-ordering the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 within the pop-up stores, and those who do will have the opportunity to pick up their devices from the same location on September 9.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the latest “phablet” in the series and differentiates itself from its predecessors with new features, including but not limited to water-resistance and a waterproof S Pen stylus. Additionally, the Galaxy Note 7 takes advantage of iris recognition technology for improved security, and is powered by the latest and most powerful internal components, including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 or an in-house Exynos 8890 SoC, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory, and a 12-megapixel main camera coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper.
