Samsung takes Internet of Things to the next level by developing a new generation of WiFi technology which can deliver data throughput upto 4.6Gbps. That means next time when you will use a Samsung device you will expect lightening fast performance.
Samsung’s WiFi solution uses 802.11ad standard and new 60GHz WiFi technology to get the performance boost. Unlike the existing 2.4GHz and 5 GHz WiFi technologies, the new technology can get maximum throughput by eliminating co-channel interference. You can use multiple numbers of devices at the same time, but still get great results.
60 GHz wave was not used till now in real world communication as millimeter waves that travel by line-of-sight has weak penetration properties and is susceptible to path loss, resulting in poor signal and data performance. Samsung is using new millimeter-wave circuit design, high performance modem technologies and wide-coverage beam-forming antenna, to achieve the highest WiFi throughput at 60 GHz.
Samsung is also planning to bring this new technology to its future devices when 60 GHz spectrum band will be commercially available during early next year.
