Samsung has just revived its almost forgotten Star phone series by way of announcing two new handsets donning the “Star” branding. These phones are the Samsung Star 3 and Samsung Star 3 Duos. Take note, these two handsets are non-smartphones but that doesn’t mean we should take them for granted. In fact, both are pretty capable phones in terms of features and functionality. The Samsung Star 3 features a 3-inch QVGA display, TouchWiz Lite, quad-band GSM/EDGE network connectivity and the usual smartphone stuff such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and Samsung’s ChatON mobile communication app. There’s also Facebook and Twitter apps pre-installed on the device. Other features of the Samsung 3 include a 3MP camera and microSD card support. The Samsung Star 3 Duos have all the features of the Star 3 except for the additional dual SIM support. Both devices will be available in black and white colors in Russia, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa this month. Pricing details are still unannounced but considering that both are non-smartphone, expect some affordability in their pricing.
