Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, you know that Samsung has announced two new phablets recently. This Korea-based tech giant has showcased the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ phablets on August 13th in New York. We already have plenty of coverage on both of these devices, and it seems like new info keeps on coming as days go by. Samsung constantly keeps on announcing these two devices in new markets, and the company has just done it in its home market, South Korea.
The company has showed off both devices in South Korea, and has also announced their pricing. The Galaxy Note 5 will be available for 899,800 won (32GB variant) and 965,800 won (64GB model). Consumers in South Korea will be able to purchase this phablet in White Pearl, Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum color options. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ will, on the other hand, cost 939,400 won for the 32GB model, the 64GB variant won’t launch in South Korea, at least not for now. The Galaxy Edge+ will be available in Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum colors in Korea, in case you were wondering.
These two phablets sport different designs because of the curved display on the Galaxy S6 Edge+, but they sport really similar spec sheets. Both devices sport a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and come in 32 and 64GB internal storage models. Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels both of these devices, and you can also find a 16-megapixel OIS camera on their backs. Samsung’s newest phablets ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop pre-installed with Samsung’s TouchWiz available on top of Google’s OS. The dimensions of these phones are slightly different, same goes for weight, but the also sport the same battery on the inside, and the same fingerprint scanner / physical home button below the display.
There you have it folks, Samsung’s newest phablets have reached South Korea sa well. The two devices aren’t exactly cheap, but that was to be expected. Either way, it will be interesting to see how well will these two phablets sell in Samsung’s homeland.
