Samsung is feeling the heat over its worst performance in recent years when it lost a big portion of its profit to various Chinese brands. Now Samsung is trying to turn around things a bit with its latest premium looking Galaxy A series of handsets.
Though the phones will be in mid and budget segment, these will provide good performance and better design. Samsung’s plan is to release three smartphones in the Galaxy A series, which include Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. While Galaxy A3 will be the most budget options, Galaxy A7 will provide great performance in the mid segment without compromising style.
It is also believed that Samsung is taking the current financial problems quite seriously and going to release the new phones as early as November. Most likely the Galaxy A series smartphones will land in China first, where Samsung has a lot of competition from Xiaomi.
We are expecting that Samsung Galaxy A3 will have Snapdragon 410 processor at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 4.5-inch display with 540×960 resolution. At the same time Galaxy A7 will have a 1080×1920 pixel resolution display at 5.2-inches, with a Snapdragon 615 SoC at 1.5GH coupled with 2GB of RAM.
Samsung is going to sell the A3 with a $350 price tag and A7 with $499, which seems like bit high when compared to Xiaomi. But Samsung thinks that people will pay extra for brand recognition. There is a new report coming up that Xiaomi is not the third largest smartphone manufacturer in term of millions of units shipped in the last quarter.
The future of Samsung depends on how they are going to do better innovations and find new markets to get back into the highly competitive smartphone race.
