It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Samsung is already hard at work on the next version of their flagship line of Galaxy S smartphones. Some have already suggested that we’ll see the Galaxy S IV announced at next year’s Mobile World Congress, held in February 2013.
Now, rumors have it that the Galaxy S IV will sport a next-generation processor, currently going under the codename “Adonis.” The processor will be a quad-core ARM Cortex A15 built using a new 28-nanometer manufacturing process. The Exynos 4 processor found in the Galaxy S III is manufactured with a 35nm process, while the Exynos 3 in the original Galaxy S used a 45nm process.
The Exynos 5 Adonis is rumored to run at 2.0GHz a core. On the GPU side of things we get a quad-core Mali-T658 chip which should enable astonishing graphics to be rendered on a mobile device.
