A few days ago, there were reports of the SARA Cydia tweak bringing Siri to the older iOS models like older models of iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch. It was found to get both positive and negative responses and yet proved to be a viable alternative to Siri.
The SaraDictation Cydia Tweak like Siri brings voice diction to the older iOS devices, enabling the users to take voice notes as well as reply to SMS messages through voice and other such things that can be done without the need of typing. The iPhone 4 and 3GS users can also have Siri like feature as this amazing tweak brings voice dictation for iPhone 4 as well as voice dictation for iPhone 3GS. An extension of SARA, the SARADictation tweak has a snag to it too. This Cydia tweak does not actually integrate natively with the iOS 5 firmware. However, if you are not willing to setup your own Spire Proxy server or do not want to pay for a private Spire Proxy server, this tweak is a better alternative to Siri.
To activate Siri Dictation:
You will need to set an Activator command for SaraDictation and then actually paste the voice-to-text recording where you wish to use it.
Regardless, if you are interested in the SaraDictation Cydia tweak you can find it in the developers repo and you can then add this repository by following instructions.
