Independent games developer Dakko Dakko have announced today that their 360 degree platform 2-D shooter, Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails, is heading to the Wii U. Fast-paced and built specifically for Nintendo’s platform from the ground-up, Scram Kitty will hit the eShop on May 15th for $10.
Cool cats don't look at explosions
Rhodri Broadbent, founder of Dakko Dakko, shared the following regarding the upcoming title:
“After a little bit of a wait while we crammed the game’s Space Station with even more fiendish stages and added a new skill-play mode, it’s great to be able to say that people can get our latest game very soon!”
Good things come to those who wait, it seems! Scram Kitty, being the unique indie game that it is, marries 360 degree platforming and 2-D shooting, as players glide along glowing rails while jumping over obstacles and shooting anything that comes near them. Scram Kitty himself will offer gamers hints in real-time via the television while they play the title on their GamePad, which is one of the more unique uses of the GamePad I have seen to date.
Also included in the Scram Kitty package is a “Challenge Mode” where players race against time to free as many cats as possible while making it out of the space station without exploding. Gamers can share their scores from this mode via the Miiverse community for bragging rights.
More info on Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails can be found here, while a trailer can be found below. Dakko Dakko made The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character and Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims, which are the greatest titles in videogame history, so I have high hopes for Scram Kitty based on those names ALONE.
