A new leak has possibly given us our very first look of what appears to be the second gen Moto E. The smartphone is very identical to the predecessor in terms of design, but appears to be missing one of the front facing speakers that we saw on the first gen variant.
The earpiece is intact, which might also act as the speaker here, something which Motorola does with the Moto G, Moto X and the Nexus 6 as well. There also seems to be a second microphone on the back, possibly for noise cancellation.
There’s not much to tell aside from these hardware changes, but it’s more than likely that this is the second generation Moto E. Android 5.0 is obviously running by default, with not much modifications. The device however seems to have the old Messaging icon in the bottom tray, but we are putting this down to human error. With the MWC 2015 approaching swiftly, we can expect Motorola to unveil this budget offering then.
