The recently announced 2nd gen Moto E from Verizon has some good news waiting today. Customers of the budget handset will officially start seeing the update to Android 5.1 after the handset was launched with Android 5.0 out of the box a couple of months ago. The update won’t bring any drastic changes to the device, but will bring some minor but noticeable features to the table. One of them is the ability to control the system volume while accessing the media volume menu.
There’s also the ability to check Bluetooth and WiFi connection settings right from the drop down Notifications/Quick Settings pane, saving you the trouble of going through the lengthy process of heading down to the Settings page. Motorola has included the Factory Reset Protection feature with this device, which will require a passcode for the handset even if you perform a factory reset.
If you’re not seeing the update right away, make sure you head over to the Settings – About Page section and try to download it that way.
