In case you haven’t already heard, WayForward’s Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse is making the jump from the Nintendo 3DS to the Wii U this holiday. In fact, it’s releasing on the Nintendo eShop on Christmas Day.
December 25th, as a whole round of new gamers are firing up their Wii Us for the first time, they’ll have a really interesting action platformer from one of the best at the genre in the business waiting for them on the eShop. The video we have today, which you’ll find at the head of this post, is the launch trailer for Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse.
I’ve played this specific game at a conference. I had maybe an hour of time with it before I was shuffled along to something else. That’s my first-person experience with it, though I plan to pick it up for my Wii U this week.
Our own Ron Duwell, though, swears by the Shantae series. I don’t think he has this one yet, but he constantly talks about how these games, dating back to the Game Boy Advance, are absolutely amazing.
That’s enough to push me towards trying it. The game will sell for $19.99.
