Back in 1995, a video game dubbed Shaq Fu was released where as the name implies, it is a game featuring the likeness of basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal where he goes on a quest to save a young boy from an even mummy while beating up the bad guys. It was not particularly well-received, but yet was notorious enough to spawn a modern remake back in 2014.
In fact last year the game was even ported onto Nintendo’s latest console, the Switch, but in case you wanted to play it on your phones, you’re in luck because Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has since been launched on both iOS and Android devices. The game itself is free to download, but it seems to follow a model similar to Nintendo’s Super Mario Run where if you want to unlock all the content the game has to offer, you’ll have to pay for it with a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99.
Considering that the game launched on other platforms like the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch where it was priced between $29.99 to $39.99, $4.99 is a downright steal. Of course whether or not the game is fun enough to even warrant $4.99 will be up to you to decide, but if you do decide to go ahead with it, you can get your hands on it via the iOS App Store and Google Play.
