It was not too long ago that we managed to take a look at the Sharp Aquos Crystal 2, and here we are with yet another release from the folks over at Sharp – with the Sharp Aquos Xx. Granted, the name itself might not sound so savory at first glance, but this is one sexy beast, sporting a rather generous 5.7” display that is encased within an aluminum body. This will be the flagship model from Sharp as opposed to the new mid-range Aquos Crystal 2, where having a larger screen would definitely go a long way in establishing itself among the Sharp smartphone hierarchy.
Underneath the hood, you will be able to enjoy plenty of processing muscle thanks to the most recent Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm. Although it has a 5.7” display, the Aquos Crystal Xx happens to be a whole lot more compact compared to the LG G4 courtesy of its bezel-less design, as it tries to recreate the TV experience on your palm. Sporting an S-PureLCD (Sharp-developed technology) with 1080p resolution, it delivers a pixel density of 386ppi.
Android 5.0 Lollipop will run the show, and other hardware specifications include 3GB RAM, an Adreno 430 GPU, 32GB of internal memory which can be further expanded via a microSD memory card slot, a 13MP shooter at the back and a front-facing 2MP camera. Basic waterproofing is also part of the deal, but no submersions allowed, just rain and splashes.
