Motorola initially announced its shatter-proof display Droid Turbo 2 (also known as the Moto X Force) with a drop test and it was only a matter of time before other people starting putting the smartphone through some tougher tests. Youtube channel UnlockRiverhas taken the challenge quite a bit further, with a 900 foot drop test.
Motorola’s display gets its shatter-proof properties from five individual flexible plastic layers that are stacked on top of the OLED panel, rather than using glass to protect the underlying circuit. This extra flexibility makes it tougher to break than your regular glass display, but at this height I’m equally concerned about the rest of the handset’s aluminium frame.
I won’t spoil the result for you, check out the video below:
If you are rather accident prone, the Droid Turbo 2 might be the phone for you. It also features a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 21 megapixel camera, and a colossal 3,760-mAh battery. Be sure to check out our full review below to see how the rest of the handset stacks up.
