With the WWDC 2012 Keynote, it had become confirmed that Apple’s Siri would be available on the new iPad too. Siri’s exclusivity to iPhone 4S is now broken officially, bringing it to the new iPad through iOS 6.
However, as normal users, you won’t be able to see and use Siri on iPad till the official GM release of iOS 6, which is expected to be in Fall.
Siri on New iPad 3
For those of you who want to take a sneak peek at how the personal assistant looks on iPad, here are a couple of images showing Siri on the new iPad.
You invoke Siri on iPad the same way as you do on the iPhone – long-press the home button and up come Siri. Siri’s power and range of expertise has been vastly improved, fetching you game scores, movie showtimes and more.
What’s singularly impressive is that Siri would be able to guide you utilizing new Maps system on the Apple’s iOS 6 firmware (although we hear that there is a limitation on this based on the version of iDevice you are using).
You can also tweet and update your Facebook status directly from Siri. And Siri can open applications that are installed. These are functionalities that were highly expected and Apple has rightly delivered.
