The hugely anticipated Sky Go app is due on Android “over the next month”, just in time for the arrival of the new F1 season.
Having launched for PC and iOS handsets in July last year, the television streaming app will debut on Google’s smartphone OS with a bolstered lineup of shows from Sky 1, Sky Living and Sky Arts 1.
Sky Atlantic is due on the service imminently while the brand new Sky Sports F1 channel will be supported following its grand unveiling in March.
According to Holly Knill, head of Sky Go, the Rupert Murdoch affiliated service has “done everything we can to make sure that our bespoke design for Android handsets is worth waiting for”.
The Sky Go app will be free to use for Sky customers, while non-subscribers can pay for access.
