A new update to Skype for Android brings a handful of new holiday-themed features. If you’re not able to visit family or friends this holiday season, this new update will still help you make a connection and let that person know you care about them.
Skype will now let you send a winter-themed video message to friends and family. Videos can be recorded up to 720p, sent to multiple people at once, and can even be shared to social networks or through email.
Microsoft’s all-in-one messaging application also received support for some new holiday-themed emoji, including a Christmas Tree, a Polar Bear, a Reindeer, and more.
Users can now send Skype credit to contacts as a gift as well. Here’s the full changelog:
Create your holiday video card. Tap on the button on the lower right, then tap on the snowflake to record, and share over Skype, social networks, or e-mail.
Send video messages to groups. Create a new video message and select the people you want to send it to, or record and send in a group chat.
Get into the holiday spirit with festive new emoticons and Mojis.
The new update will be rolling out to users over the next week or so.
Microsoft just recently brought a new version of the messaging application called Skype for Business to Android.
Skype is available on Android from the Play Store, and can be downloaded at the link below.
