Skype cofounder Janus Friis, along with the rest of the Zeta Project Swiss team, has just launched a new free communications app simply called Wire.
Skype was launched more than a decade ago, Friis says in a press release announcing the app. A lot has changed since then – we are all used to free calls and texting, and we have taken to carrying our computers in our pockets. It is time to create the best possible communication tools, as beautiful as they are useful. Wire is just that.
Despite its name, Wire is developed for wireless communications (you dont say!), including messaging, voice calling, and even sharing of photos, videos, and songs. Specifically, with its attractive and elegant interface, Wire allows for one-on-one and group chatting, HD audio calling, and sharing of images, YouTube clips, and SoundCloud music.
Of course, Wire is also synced across the platforms it’s available on, whether on smartphone, tablet, or desktop.
