If you’re all for zombie games, there’s a brand-new zombie shooter for Android.
Crazy Hill is a very challenging and thrilling game that’ll put you on the edge of your seat.
Created by GameOnDev, Crazy Hill is something that definitely shouldn’t be played in the dark with headphones on.
Concept and Gameplay
Basically the goal of Crazy Hill is to quickly destroy zombies by shooting at them. The game is level-based, and you need to successfully complete a mission before unlocking the next one.
The background story of the game in interesting, though, and tells the tale of Alex and his team of investigators, who were checking out the mysterious place known as “The Hill.”
After an attack, Alex wakes up at the beginning of an obstacle course in a hangar. With no recollection of how he got there, he must escape to safety.
Unfortunately the controls in Crazy Hill are a bit touchy and tough to get used to. Unlike standard FPS games, you don’t actually control the character himself, just the crosshairs of your gun. This is done by using the arrow buttons on the left side of the screen. On the right side, there are buttons to fire and reload your weapon, as well as swap weapons if you have more than one.
Personally I found Crazy Hill to be almost too challenging, and I finally gave up trying to pass the first level. In the first level, there’s no way to control how fast you can fire your gun, so your success is largely based on how quickly you can aim at an approaching zombie.
Crazy Hill Android Game
Crazy Hill is a bit light on features, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Levels feature a variety of items that players can pick up by tapping on them, such as ammo. Other than that, though, what you see is what you get in Crazy Hill. By no means is this a blockbuster FPS game, but it’s a great way to annihilate some zombies.
Also, according to the Google Play page for Crazy Hill, the “What’s New” section for the app states that a shop was added to the game, but I was unable to find such a thing while navigating around the menus.
One thing I do wish Crazy Hill featured is a difficulty mode setting. I say this for a lot of games I review. On the plus side, heavy duty gamers love a stiff challenge, and to some, the harder the game the better. The downside, though, is that games that are very tough to play tend to discourage and frustrate new players to the point where they just quit and delete the game. A simple “Easy / Hard” toggle would be a welcome addition.
Crazy Hill can be downloaded from Google Play for free, which is always a great price. The only annoying thing about the game is the fact that ads take up the whole screen when they appear, which can cause older devices to lag.
Overall though, Crazy Hill is the perfect zombie game for players who are looking for a good challenge.
Crazy Hill requires Android 2.3+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
