A mysterious new device has shown up on a User Agent Profile and many are speculating that this could possibly be the Galaxy S5 Mini. In the UAProf, the device is listed to have a 720×1280 resolution display and a 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Processor (possibly the Snapdragon 800). The “A” at the end of the model number also implies that this device is headed to AT&T, which means we could very well get a variant of the device here.
Of course this is all speculation but if it turns out to be true it would mark a shift in Samsung’s approach to their “mini” devices. Historically, most manufacturer’s “mini’s” have been underwhelming in the spec department while carrying the same design of the larger sibling. The exception, of course, is the Xperia Z1 Compact which packs nearly the same specs as it’s big brother. Sony has shown that there is a desire for smaller high-end devices so Samsung may be looking to go after that market segment this year.
I’m sure more details will begin to surface soon enough if this is indeed the S5 Mini.
