S5 No Sound When Playing Music
Problem:This issue started happening a few weeks ago. I remember downloading a bunch of games on my Galaxy S5 and also dropping it on the floor a couple of times. Not sure what is the cause of the problem still. The problem I am having is that music (Spotify, mp3’s stored in memory card) pauses and resumes after a few seconds or sometimes it simply stops. I don’t have smart stay or pause enabled and this happens whether the phone is on or locked, facing up or down, when I am using headphones or not, you name it.
Solution: Try checking first if this issue is caused by an app installed in your phone by starting the device in Safe Mode. In this mode your phone’s pre-installed apps are allowed to run while those apps you downloaded are disabled. Check the music playing capability of your phone and check if the issue still persists. If the problem does not occur then it may be caused by an ap installed in your device. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If however the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then try clearing the cache and data of the music app you are using as this may have some corrupt temporary data that’s causing the problem.
Sometimes the microSD card can cause this type of issue. Try using a new microSD card if you are using one in your phone.
You should also wipe the cache partition of our phone.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the issue then you need to backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
If after the factory reset the problem still remains then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S5 Headphones Plugged In Error
Problem:my phone says that my headphones are plugged in but they are not. I own a samsung s5. I read that it happens when your phone gets wet, they call it the headphone bug. It has happened to me a couple of times but it usually goes away in an hour or 2. But its been 2 days and i cant make phone calls or watch movies on my phone without headphones. I read that a lot of people downloaded SoundAbout and it fixes the problem but i have no idea how to use it. Any advice?
Solution: Sometimes this problem can be caused by dirt or debris stuck in the audio port of your phone. Carefully inspect the audio port and if needed clean it using a can of compressed air.
Another cause of this problem is a glitch in your phone software. If this is the case then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the factory reset fails to resolve the problem then the audio port of your phone may be shorted. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S5 Sound Lags
Problem:My ringtone volume increases by itself, showing the status bar of the volume. However the sound lags so only after a while you hear the beep of the volume increasing. The volume up button doesn’t respond at any point when I press it. The volume down works (no lag in sound) but most of the time when I press it the volume increases almost instantly. I’m not sure if it’s software or hardware related. I had problems with the phone when it updated to Lollipop in march/april but about a week later I got a second update and all problems were fixed. This problem appeared two days ago while I was using chrome and now it won’t stop increasing the volume. I did a soft reset twice without result. Thanks in advance for your help!
Solution: I suggest you do a factory reset this time. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this procedure. Once the factory reset is done immediately check the sound status of your phone
If the issue persists after the factory reset the this may already be a hardware related issue. Bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
